Why theater?: A million reasons, but mostly because It's a truly collaborative art form.  I've learned so much from so many people in every single show I've done.

Who do you play in Pretty Babies?: Billy

Tell us about Pretty Babies: For me it's very much a play about how we try to own other people and the damage that's created by forcing other people into our own constructs.  It's also very funny.  And there's a good amount of sex. And a good amount of drugs.

What is it like being a part of Pretty Babies?: This is my fourth play working with Antony Raymond and Elsinore County Theater Company.  At this point it feels like being home.  One of the luckiest things of my artistic life is getting to be a part of this company.  I get to work with great writing, a great director, and great actors.  I truly couldn't be more grateful.

What kind of theater speaks to you? What or who inspires you as an artist?: That's pretty difficult.  Anyone trying to create something with honesty in this world is inspirational to me.

Any roles you’re dying to play?: Oswald from Ibsen's Ghosts

What’s your favorite showtune?: Anything from Planet of the Apes: The Musical!

If you could work with anyone you’ve yet to work with, who would it be?: Jefferson Mays.  Probably just so I could ask him about working on I Am My Own Wife every day after rehearsal.

Who would play you in a movie about yourself and what would it be called?: If it's okay, I would like to play myself in "Dan McVey Meets The Muppets".  And if the Coen brothers would direct it, that would be great.

If you could go back in time and see any play or musical you missed, what would it be?: I would love to have seen Michael Chekhov in anything.

What show have you recommended to your friends?: That last Twelfth Night with Mark Rylance pretty much blew my mind.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?: Watching Red Panda videos on YouTube

What’s up next?: Hopefully helping to get the next Elsinore County show up and running.
