Why theater?: I sort of just fell into it.

Tell us about Pretty Babies: It's a play about toxic relationships and our unwillingness to let them go.

What inspired you to write Pretty Babies?: Like many of my plays, they start off with a simple scene and I let the play sort of take off in a sort natural direction.

What kind of theater speaks to you? What or who inspires you as an artist?: My favorite guy at the moment is Ivo Van Hove.

If you could work with anyone you’ve yet to work with, who would it be?: I'd love to work with Austin Pendleton.  He was my teacher for many years but I've never got to work with him on a professional level.

What show have you recommended to your friends?: Halley Feiffer new play at Atlantic with Reed Birney is really good.

Who would play you in a movie about yourself and what would it be called?: I would cast my best friend Eric Doviak and I would cast myself as him and it would mess us up for years.  I'd call it, "We Hypothetically Made This Movie Because of a Q and A".

If you could go back in time and see any play or musical you missed, what would it be?:  I'd be curious to see any original Shakespeare production.  That would be wild.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?: I can't write that down in this interview.

If you weren’t working in theater, you would be _____?: A millionaire.

What’s up next?:  My next play is called Nothing To Do About Everything or Whatever, my final installment of three Shakespeare parodies.
