Why theater?: It's a long story...but I got into theatre ACCIDENTALLY. I promise.
Who do you play in Love is Like Mud?: Jon, but Johnny Baby suites me fine.
Tell us about Love is Like Mud:Love Is Like Mud is the millennials' answers to She Loves Me. It's a witty, cynical look at falling in love in NYC in the 21st century. It's sort of amazing how the structure of society is such that you don't have to get married as soon as possible anymore. People get to find themselves now with so much less of a stigma for being a worthless vagrant.
What is it like being a part of Love is Like Mud?: It's so much. The music to this show is fucking incredible, and Ben is so tightly woven into every stitch of this piece. It's a big pleasure getting to work with him every step of the way. His whole heart is on the table here. It forces me to do the same.
What kind of theater speaks to you? What or who inspires you as an artist?: Anything that is challenging to an audience. Especially if it challenges my own personal aesthetic. That's the only way to keep growing. Keep feeling uncomfortable.
Any roles you’re dying to play?: Emcee in Cabaret
What’s your favorite showtune?:"Now/Later/Soon" from A Little Night Music.
If you could work with anyone you’ve yet to work with, who would it be?: Rebecca Naomi Jones
Who would play you in a movie about yourself and what would it be called?: Benedict Cumberbatch -- "WITH LOVE AND CHOLERA"
If you could go back in time and see any play or musical you missed, what would it be?: Passing Strange
What show have you recommended to your friends?:Natasha, Pierre And The Great Comet Of 1812
What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?: Ben & Jerry's. Single sitting.
What’s up next?: I'm going to be playing Edward Snowden in That Queer Blind Science at the 13th Street Rep from August 5th - 23rd.
